Wii accident...

Well, it seems when you purchase a Wii they tell you to make sure you have room all around you to play but the forget to tell you to make sure your ceiling is high enough. I know a person should be smart enough to know this on their own but we forget simple things from time to time.

Anyways, last Sunday we were all playing Wii Volleyball and having a great time with it when all of a sudden E goes to spike the ball and hits the false ceiling (like the ones in doctors offices or businesses). At first I thought no big deal he has done it before but when I asked if he was ok, he responded "far from it...get me some tape now please." I was confussed and asked "are you sure you don't want a towel or something else." "No, I NEED tape NOW."

I ran and got him tissue and packing tape. When I got back to him he asked me to help him tape up his finger. This was the first time I saw what had happened...he had sliced a huge chuck of his right index finger almost off. Once we got it taped up I called my mom to come watch the kids and I took E to the ER.

After an hour and an half wait they got him into a room, did a finger block, took the tape off, put in 9 stiches and sent him home with a referal to a hand doctor. Our total time at the ER was 3 hours.

E saw the hand doctor and he says the finger is all good and in 10 days to come back to have the stiches removed. E has been in not stop pain since it happened and today they finally gave him some pain pills to help.

Now, we just have to wait for the bill...how fun!

So, the lesson is...Make sure you have room in EVERY direction before playing the Wii!

Here is the picture that was taken May 20 and the accident happened May 17th.
